Course Overview

What Is This Course About?

From Web Developer to Full-Stack Software Developer

Modern software is rarely built with a single programming language.

Welcome to the Full-Stack Developer Program, where students move beyond individual coding exercises and learn how complete software applications are designed, built, connected, tested and deployed.

Students work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Flask, SQL, REST APIs, authentication, Git/GitHub and cloud deployment, while experiencing a development workflow that reflects how modern software is created.

Students therefore don’t learn isolated technologies.

They learn how to connect them into working software.

Why Learn Full-Stack Development?

Technology companies don’t simply need people who can write code. They need developers who understand how different parts of a software system work together.

A full-stack developer needs to understand:

  • User Interfaces
  • Frontend Logic
  • Backend Programming
  • Databases
  • APIs
  • Authentication
  • Data Flow
  • Software Architecture
  • Testing & Debugging
  • Version Control
  • Cloud Deployment
  • Automation
  • AI-Assisted Development
Full-Stack Explained

What Does “Full-Stack” Actually Mean?

Imagine a student builds an online study platform.

  1. A user opens the website.

  2. Frontend HTML + CSS + JavaScript

HTML, CSS and JavaScript create the interface.

  3. Programming Python
  4. Backend Flask

Python and Flask process the user’s request.

  5. Database SQL + SQLite

    SQL stores the student’s information.

  6. APIs REST + JSON

The application communicates with another service.

  7. Authentication Users + Permissions

The system knows who the user is.

  8. Cloud Deployment

    The application is deployed online.

  9. AI Architecture + Technical Review
  10. Automation n8n + Service Integration

A workflow can trigger another action automatically.

Full-Stack Software Product

Students learn to understand this complete chain.

This is the full-stack mindset.

Our Approach

What Makes This Program Different?

Traditional Web Development
Learn HTML Learn CSS Learn JavaScript Learn Python Build Website

Students may know each technology individually but not understand how they work together.

Full-Stack Developer Program
Design Frontend Backend Database APIs Authentication Testing Deployment AI Review Automation Complete Product

This program takes a different approach.Students build the connections.

Students learn systems, not isolated syntax.

Students don’t just graduate knowing several technologies. They develop the ability to think about:

How does the whole system work?

They learn to ask:

  • How does the frontend communicate with the backend?
  • How does the backend communicate with the database?
  • How does an API fit into the application?
  • Where should authentication happen?
  • How does data move through the system?
  • What happens when something fails?
  • How can automation connect different services?
  • Can AI help review or improve this system?

That is the mindset of a modern software developer.

AI-Assisted Full-Stack Development

Coding Still Matters in the Age of AI

AI can now generate HTML. It can write JavaScript. It can suggest Python. It can generate SQL. It can even produce entire application prototypes.

So why should students still learn to code?

Because generating code is not the same as engineering software.

AI can accelerate development. Coding knowledge gives students the ability to control, evaluate and improve that development.

The course introduces AI as a development and engineering partner, not as a replacement for coding.

Students work with:

NotebookLM

To organise and explore technical information, documentation and project knowledge.

Claude / ChatGPT

To review software architecture, APIs, data flow and technical decisions.

n8n

To understand how different applications and services can be connected through practical workflow automation.

1

AI as an Architecture Reviewer

Before building a large application, students need to think about its structure.

For example:

User Interface Flask Backend Authentication Database External API

A student can use Claude or ChatGPT to ask:

“Review the architecture of my application. Identify potential weaknesses in the way the frontend, backend, database and APIs communicate. Explain what I should investigate rather than rewriting the application for me.”

Students then evaluate the suggestions themselves.

2

AI for API & Data-Flow Review

Applications constantly move information between different systems.

Students learn to examine:

Where does the data originate? Where does it go? Which component processes it? Where is it stored? What happens next?

Using AI, students can review their data flow and investigate:

  • Missing validation
  • Unnecessary data transfers
  • API design issues
  • Potential bottlenecks
  • Error-handling gaps
  • Security considerations
  • Unclear data relationships

The student remains responsible for deciding what should actually change.

3

From APIs to Automation

Modern software doesn’t always wait for a person to click a button. Applications can trigger actions automatically.

Students get an introduction to n8n and visual workflow automation.

They learn how applications and services can be connected using:

Trigger Process Action

For example: Student Registration Workflow

  1. New student registration
  2. Store information
  3. Trigger workflow
  4. Send notification
  5. Update another system

Students begin to see software not simply as individual programs, but as connected systems.

The philosophy of this course is simple:

Students build. AI challenges and assists.

Students still need to:

  • Understand the requirements
  • Plan the application
  • Design the architecture
  • Write and understand the code
  • Build the database
  • Connect the APIs
  • Test the application
  • Debug problems
  • Make technical decisions

AI can then help students review and improve their thinking.

This develops an important modern developer skill:

Using AI to challenge technical decisions rather than blindly accepting AI-generated solutions.

Projects

Build Real-World Projects

Throughout the program, students build a portfolio including projects such as:

  • Personal Portfolio Website

  • Task Management Platform

  • Secure Login System

  • Notes & Journal Application

  • Student Management System

  • Online Quiz Platform

  • Expense Tracker

  • Weather Dashboard

  • AI Chat Assistant

  • Recipe Finder

  • Movie Recommendation App

  • Real-Time Chat Application

  • Blog Platform

  • E-Commerce Prototype

  • Full-Stack Social Platform

These projects progressively develop the student’s understanding of complete software systems.

AI-Enhanced Full-Stack Projects

The AI integration adds another layer to these projects.

For example, students could take a Task Management Platform and explore:

Traditional Application

User Task App Database

Modern Application

User Task App Backend Database

The goal isn’t to make every project an “AI project.”

The goal is to teach students where AI and automation genuinely add value.

FAQs

Common Questions From Parents

It's Level 3 of the Senior Coder Web Development Pathway. Students move beyond individual coding exercises and learn how complete software applications are designed, built, connected, tested and deployed. They work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Flask, SQL, REST APIs, authentication, Git/GitHub and cloud deployment.

Yes. This is the final level of the Web Development Pathway, so it follows Level 1 (Creative Web Design with HTML & CSS) and Level 2 (JavaScript Developer Program). The course opens with a JavaScript review and asynchronous programming. Python is taught from the fundamentals in Module 2, so no prior Python is needed.

The program includes 35–38 hours of learning modules plus 2–3 hours of assessment. It's taught across 32 sessions in 8 modules, followed by a 3-session Full-Stack Developer Challenge capstone (Sessions 33–35).

It means understanding the complete chain behind an application. HTML, CSS and JavaScript create the interface. Python and Flask process requests. SQL stores the data. APIs connect to other services, authentication identifies the user, the cloud puts the app online, and automation triggers actions. Students learn how all these parts work together, not as isolated technologies.

  • Languages and frameworks: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), Python, Flask, SQL and SQLite.
  • Development tools: REST APIs, JSON, Postman, Git and GitHub, VS Code and cloud deployment platforms.
  • AI and automation tools: NotebookLM, Claude/ChatGPT and n8n.

  • No. The course philosophy is "Students build. AI challenges and assists." Students still plan the application, design the architecture, write the code, build the database, connect the APIs, and test and debug. AI is used to review their thinking:

    • NotebookLM organises technical documentation and project knowledge.
    • Claude/ChatGPT reviews architecture, APIs and data flow.
    • n8n teaches workflow automation.

  • A portfolio of projects that may include:

    • a Personal Portfolio Website, Task Management Platform, Secure Login System and Notes & Journal App
    • a Weather Dashboard, AI Chat Assistant, Real-Time Chat Application, Blog Platform and E-Commerce Prototype

The course ends with the Full-Stack Developer Challenge: a complete application that each student designs, builds, tests, deploys and presents.

  • Yes. Students learn how applications move from a local computer to the internet, covering hosting, environment variables and production vs development. They finish with applications other people can access online, and a deployed application is one of the final deliverables.

  • Through the capstone and a portfolio evaluation. Students submit:

    • Software: the full-stack application, deployed application and GitHub repository
    • Design documents: an architecture diagram, data-flow diagram and API documentation
    • AI and automation work: an AI architecture review, a NotebookLM knowledge base and an n8n automation workflow
    • Evidence and presentation: testing evidence, technical documentation and a final presentation

  • The skills build a foundation for careers such as:

    • Development: Full-Stack Developer, Software Engineer, Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Python Developer
    • Cloud and operations: Cloud Developer, DevOps Engineer
    • AI and data: AI Application Developer, Automation Developer, Data Engineer
    • Business: Technical Entrepreneur

This is the final level of the Web Development Pathway. Students can then explore the other Senior Coder programs : Java Software Engineering & Android App Development, and C++ Programming & Virtual Robotics Engineering.

Classes are online, personalized and live, and students receive a certificate on completion. These are the same standard details as every Senior Coder course.
